Antes de tomar la decisión, es clave comparar la tasa de costo efectivo anual (TCEA). Este indicador no solo incluye los intereses, sino también comisiones, seguros, gastos administrativos y otros cargos. Mientras más baja sea la TCEA, menor será el costo total del crédito.
Además, algunas entidades ofrecen un período de gracia. Es decir, un tiempo inicial en el que no se paga la cuota completa. No obstante, este beneficio debe evaluarse con cuidado: aunque no se paguen intereses durante ese lapso, estos igual se generan y se suman a la deuda.

Al buscar un nuevo banco, también conviene revisar otros beneficios. Por ejemplo, reducir el monto de la cuota mensual para aliviar el flujo de dinero o eliminar las cuotas dobles de julio y diciembre y reemplazarlas por pagos simples.
