Un sismo de magnitud 5 se registró en la tarde del jueves 26 de febrero en Lima, según informó el Instituto Geofísico del Perú (IGP).

De acuerdo con el reporte de esa entidad, el temblor ocurrió a las 6:21 p.m. y su epicentro se localizó en el mar, a 36 kilómetros al oeste de Chilca, en la provincia de Cañete.

Asimismo, detalló que el movimiento telúrico tuvo una profundidad de 53 kilómetros, y una intensidad máxima de IV – V en Chilca.

Hasta la redacción de esta nota, las autoridades locales y de Defensa Civil no han reportado daños personales ni materiales después de ocurrido el movimiento telúrico.

Según informó el IGP en sus canales oficiales, el de esta tarde ha sido el tercer sismo ocurrido en la jornada del jueves 26 de febrero en el territorio nacional.

El primero ocurrió 1:54 a.m. a 24 kilómetros al este de Pucallpa, provincia de Coronel Portillo, departamento de Ucayali, y tuvo una magnitud de 4.1 y una profundidad de 171 kilómetros.

El segundo tuvo una magnitud de 3.7 y ocurrió a las 2:23 a.m., con epicentro a 22 kilómetros al sureste de Chincha Alta, en el departamento de Ica.

La profundidad fue de 40 kilómetros y fue percibido con una intensidad de II – III en Chincha Alta.

El IGP reportó que a las 6:48 p.m. se registró un nuevo sismo en la provincia limeña de Cañete. El epicentro fue en el mar, a 23 kilómetros al oeste de la ciudad de Mala.

El temblor tuvo una magnitud de 3.5 y tuvo una profundidad de 52 kilómetros.
