Frente a esta situación, la Municipalidad Metropolitana de Lima informó que el 12 de diciembre de 2024 suscribió un convenio con la Municipalidad de Magdalena del Mar para fiscalizar el tránsito mediante medios electrónicos en el distrito.

Según explicó la MML, como parte del convenio Magdalena del Mar instaló sus propios equipos de control, entre ellos cámaras y cinemómetros certificados por el Instituto Nacional de la Calidad, los cuales permiten registrar evidencias de infracciones de tránsito.
El procedimiento establece que las evidencias captadas por estos equipos deben ser detectadas, evaluadas y remitidas por el municipio distrital a la Gerencia de Movilidad Urbana de Lima, entidad encargada de tramitar administrativamente las papeletas conforme al Reglamento Nacional de Tránsito.
Ante las denuncias de supuestas irregularidades, la Municipalidad de Lima informó que ha solicitado formalmente a la comuna de Magdalena un informe detallado sobre los hechos señalados, debido a que las evidencias que originan las sanciones provendrían del propio sistema implementado por el distrito.
