El subsecretario de Estado de EE.UU., Christopher Landau, felicitó este domingo a las autoridades mexicanas por el operativo que abatió a Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho, líder del Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), y señaló que es un progreso en la lucha contra el narcotráfico en la región.

El subsecretario de Estado de EE.UU., Christopher Landau, felicitó este domingo a las autoridades mexicanas por el operativo que abatió a Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho, líder del Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), y señaló que es un progreso en la lucha contra el narcotráfico en la región.

“Este es un gran avance para México, Estados Unidos, Latinoamérica y el mundo. Los buenos son más fuertes que los malos”, dijo Landau en un mensaje en X tras confirmarse el operativo por parte de las autoridades mexicanas.

La operación policial se llevó a cabo en el municipio de Tapalpa, a 130 kilómetros al sur de Guadalajara, capital de Jalisco, y derivó en enfrentamientos armados en la región.

Oseguera Cervantes, de 56 años, era uno de los delincuentes más buscados por autoridades mexicanas y estadounidenses, que habían anunciado una recompensa de 15 millones de dólares por información que condujera a su captura.

El operativo en el que también se dio de baja a otros a otros siete integrantes de esa organización delictiva, desató una ola de bloqueos de carreteras, vehículos y negocios incendiados, así como enfrentamientos que se han registrado en al menos una decena de estados de México.
