“La diferencia entre un juego serio y uno convencional es la intención. Aquí buscamos que las estudiantes aprendan algo nuevo y útil. Con STEM_play, les mostramos de manera sencilla los conceptos básicos y qué hace realmente una profesional en cada carrera”, explica Ramírez.
Este juego ha sido probado por más de 330 adolescentes, entre los 13 y 17 años, de colegios de Lima, Piura y Trujillo. Los resultados fueron claros: el 50,15 % de las participantes mejoró su percepción sobre las carreras STEM, un cambio que se reflejó en mayor interés y confianza para considerar estas opciones en su futuro.
El proyecto se enfoca en alumnas de cuarto y quinto de secundaria, etapa en la que muchas toman decisiones que marcarán su trayectoria. Para construir este juego serio, Ramírez trabajó con psicólogos y especialistas que ayudaron a identificar las barreras culturales, familiares y de acceso que enfrentan las jóvenes en distintas regiones del país.
Ese trabajo permitió crear perfiles claros y realistas de cada carrera, de modo que las estudiantes entiendan qué implica cada profesión más allá de los estereotipos o la información fragmentada que suelen recibir.
“Este juego acerca información confiable sobre carreras STEM, especialmente a estudiantes de zonas rurales donde la falta de infraestructura y conectividad limita su acceso a orientación vocacional”, señala la investigadora.
El juego se encuentra en proceso de registro de derechos de autor ante el Indecopi (Instituto Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia y de la Protección de la Propiedad Intelectual) y pronto estará disponible para el público general. La expectativa es que pueda llegar a más colegios, más regiones y más adolescentes que hoy no tienen acceso a información clara sobre estas carreras.
