El hecho fue registrado por una cámara deportiva que permitió identificar la placa del vehículo y ubicar a los responsables. Según informó el coronel Robert Villanueva, jefe de la Divopus Sur 3, el conductor reconoció su responsabilidad en el accidente.

“Admite que ha ocasionado el accidente. [Los delitos que ha cometido son] accidente de tránsito, lesiones culposas, abandono de persona en peligro y fuga”, precisó el oficial.

La víctima, Alexis Portocarrero, participaba en una competencia cuando fue embestido por la camioneta. Debido a la fuerza del impacto, salió expulsado de su bicicleta y perdió el conocimiento en plena vía de alta velocidad.

“El conductor se da a la fuga, ni siquiera tuvo conciencia de ponerse a un costado y ver, por lo menos, si estoy vivo”, declaró el joven.

Producto del atropello, sufrió contusiones en el lado izquierdo del cuerpo, tres puntos de sutura en la ceja y diversas laceraciones en el rostro y extremidades. No obstante, los exámenes médicos descartaron fracturas. Una ambulancia que acompañaba la competencia le brindó los primeros auxilios antes de trasladarlo a un hospital cercano.
