El pleno extraordinario del Congreso de la República aprobó la moción de censura con 75 votos a favor, 24 en contra y tres abstenciones, por lo que Jerí deja la Presidencia de la República.

Tras la votación, el presidente encargado del Parlamento, Fernando Rospigliosi, informó que, al haberse aprobado las mociones, la Mesa Directiva declaró la vacancia del cargo de presidente de la República.

Asimismo, convocó a una sesión para mañana a las 18:00 horas con el fin de elegir al nuevo presidente del Parlamento, quien asumirá la Presidencia de la República. Precisó que el plazo para la presentación de candidaturas vence hoy a las 18:00 horas.
