El Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC) declaró en emergencia el servicio de transporte terrestre en determinados tramos de las rutas nacionales de la Red Vial Nacional ubicadas en las regiones de Arequipa, Ica y Piura–Tumbes, según detalla la Resolución Ministerial N.° 098-2026-MTC/01.02.

El Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC) declaró en emergencia el servicio de transporte terrestre en determinados tramos de las rutas nacionales de la Red Vial Nacional ubicadas en las regiones de Arequipa, Ica y Piura–Tumbes, según detalla la Resolución Ministerial N.° 098-2026-MTC/01.02.

La decisión se sustenta en los informes técnicos del Proyecto Especial de Infraestructura de Transporte Nacional – Provías Nacional y de las direcciones generales de Autorizaciones y de Políticas en Transporte Multimodal, que alertaron sobre el estado crítico de la infraestructura vial.

En Arequipa, la declaratoria abarca rutas como DV. Yauca – Chala – Atico, Achaniso – Chaparra – Quicacha, Atico – DV. Quilca y otros tramos que conectan puntos clave de la región. La medida involucra 554 autorizaciones otorgadas a empresas de transporte, con 557 vehículos que movilizan semanalmente a cerca de 590.562 usuarios. El MTC indicó que esta declaratoria permitirá adoptar acciones inmediatas para preservar la seguridad de los pasajeros y garantizar la continuidad del servicio.

Asimismo, la resolución faculta a Provías Nacional a ejecutar las intervenciones necesarias para recuperar y mantener la transitabilidad de los tramos afectados.
