El también exdiputado consideró que la ley aprobada en el Parlamento “no es ninguna amnistía” sino un documento que pretende “chantajear a muchos venezolanos inocentes” y que excluye a gente que todavía se encuentra encarcelada.

“Los centros de tortura en Venezuela siguen abiertos, cientos de venezolanos siguen en el exilio, las leyes que usan para reprimir siguen vigentes y hay decenas de oficiales de nuestra Fuerza Armada Nacional que siguen presos por alzar la voz frente al saqueo de nuestra patria”, indicó.

En ese sentido pidió poner el “foco” para trabajar “sin descanso” hasta lograr que Venezuela “vuelva a ser libre y próspera”, de la mano de Machado y el líder opositor en el exilio Edmundo González Urrutia.

Guanipa reiteró su exigencia para que todos los presos políticos sean liberados “inmediatamente” y para que todos los exiliados regresen.

Guanipa fue liberado hace casi dos semanas en medio de un proceso de excarcelaciones anunciado en enero pasado por el Gobierno, pero horas después de salir de prisión fue detenido nuevamente y enviado a arresto domiciliario.

El opositor salió directo de la cárcel a encabezar una caravana por la libertad de los presos políticos y de Venezuela. El ministro de Interior, Diosdado Cabello, indicó luego que la detención de Guanipa se debió a que estaba tratando “de generar violencia” en el país y de “hacer un show”.

El Parlamento venezolano aprobó este jueves una histórica ley de amnistía para presos políticos detenidos durante períodos de crisis política entre 2002 y 2025 y que excluye a personas que promovieron o participaron en acciones armadas o de fuerza contra el país.

Esta ley de amnistía se enmarca en el “nuevo momento político” anunciado por la presidenta encargada, quien asumió el Ejecutivo tras la captura del mandatario Nicolás Maduro durante el ataque militar de EE.UU. el pasado 3 de enero.

La ONG Foro Penal, que lidera la defensa de presos políticos, contabiliza 644 detenidos por estos motivos en el país, tras más de 400 excarcelaciones.
