La madre de la menor, la señora Nora, relató los momentos de tensión que vivieron durante el traslado: “En el camino mi hija estaba convulsionando. Apenas llegamos, los doctores la recibieron de inmediato. Había muchos médicos alrededor de ella, actuaron muy rápido”.

Tras su ingreso al servicio de Emergencia, la menor fue diagnosticada con estatus epiléptico, una condición neurológica de alta gravedad que demanda intervención inmediata. Ante ello, el equipo médico activó el protocolo de shock trauma y aplicó de forma inmediata las medidas de cuidado crítico necesarias para su estabilización.

El neurocirujano del HEP, Dr. Jefferson Chávez, explicó que durante la evaluación inicial se le practicó una tomografía cerebral. El estudio reveló una hemorragia intracerebral extensa en el lóbulo frontal derecho, una lesión que comprometía seriamente su vida.

Frente a este diagnóstico, se activaron los protocolos de atención crítica y se dispuso una intervención quirúrgica de emergencia. El procedimiento incluyó la evacuación del hematoma cerebral, la resección de una malformación arteriovenosa y una cirugía de descompresión para aliviar el edema cerebral y preservar las funciones neurológicas.

Además del neurocirujano, en la operación estuvieron presentes los médicos Cristian Silva y Yan Tupa, anestesiólogo, así como la licenciada Midori Alarcón; quienes conformaron el equipo multidisciplinario que participó en la intervención.

Actualmente, la adolescente permanece en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos, donde presenta una evolución lenta pero favorable. “Los doctores le han salvado la vida. La están cuidando muy bien y no nos han soltado en ningún momento”, afirmó su madre, visiblemente agradecida por la atención recibida.
