En declaraciones a Canal N, el parlamentario indicó que la audiencia programada para el próximo 11 de marzo en el Tribunal Constitucional abre la posibilidad de que el líder del partido retome la presencialidad en el actual escenario político.

La audiencia para evaluar la situación jurídica de Cerrón fue programada en un plazo menor a 20 días desde la recepción del expediente. El Tribunal Constitucional recibió el documento remitido por la Corte Superior de Justicia de Lima el 11 de febrero y fijó la fecha de revisión para el 11 de marzo.

Diversos especialistas en materia jurídica han señalado que la programación del caso se ha realizado con una celeridad poco común en comparación con otros procesos similares.

Frente a estos cuestionamientos, Cruz negó que exista algún tipo de favorecimiento político y sostuvo que el procedimiento responde a los plazos previstos en la normativa vigente.

Durante la entrevista también se abordó la conformación actual del Tribunal Constitucional y el rol de la comisión especial del Congreso encargada de seleccionar a sus integrantes en el 2022, grupo que fue presidido por el congresista José María Balcázar, también de Perú Libre.

El legislador rechazó que exista una alianza entre su organización política y los magistrados del máximo intérprete de la Constitución, y aseguró que su partido ha sido objeto de investigaciones y allanamientos judiciales.

“Nosotros somos los menos favorecidos, el partido perseguido, el líder perseguido, dirigentes encarcelados, locales allanados. ¿Qué favorecimiento recibe Perú Libre? Al contrario”, señaló.

Cruz añadió que la votación del Congreso para elegir a los miembros del Tribunal Constitucional en mayo del 2022 fue un proceso legislativo independiente y que en ese momento su agrupación ni siquiera integraba la Mesa Directiva del Parlamento.
