Según relató, el Seguro Obligatorio de Accidentes de Tránsito (SOAT) del vehículo cubrió únicamente los primeros días de hospitalización, pues venció tres días después del accidente. “El gasto ya llegó a su máximo, venció a los tres días que estuvo internado mi hijo y para el cuarto día ya no había dinero. Entonces, yo he tenido que prestarme”, señaló.

Fernando Guerrero Flores estuvo internado en una clínica local, donde permaneció en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) durante una semana. Aunque logró superar la etapa crítica y ya fue dado de alta, aún presenta secuelas. “Salió de UCI, ya camina, come. Tiene algunos mareos y a la altura de la rodilla todavía siente dolor”, indicó su padre.

El conductor identificado como José Amaya de Dios, según la familia, solo se habría acercado en una oportunidad tras el accidente. Además, no acudió a una fecha pactada para una conciliación.

“El señor dijo que no, que estaba con descanso médico, entonces nos ha postergado para el día 25. Vamos a esperar, ojalá se apersone y que se haga responsable de los gastos ocasionados”, manifestó Arturo Guerrero.

El padre también expresó su malestar por la falta de información sobre el avance de las diligencias. Asimismo, cuestionó que el vehículo involucrado continúe en posesión de su propietario pese a tratarse de un caso con lesiones graves. Consideró que esta situación debería ser evaluada por las autoridades para garantizar transparencia en el proceso.

El atropello ocurrió la noche del 9 de febrero, cuando Fernando Guerrero Flores esperaba cruzar la pista de manera segura en el cruce de Javier Prado con Los Ficus. Cámaras de seguridad registraron el momento en que un auto negro se desvió abruptamente, invadió la berma y arrolló al transeúnte, lanzándolo varios metros por los aires.

El vehículo continuó su trayectoria hasta impactar contra un árbol. Agentes del serenazgo acudieron de inmediato tras las alertas emitidas por el sistema de videovigilancia municipal.

La familia del joven insiste en que el caso no debe quedar impune y espera que el conductor asuma su responsabilidad mientras avanzan las investigaciones.
