El cuerpo de Nemesio Oceguera Cervantes, alias el El Mencho, líder del Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) capturado y abatido el pasado 22 de febrero en un operativo militar en ese estado (oeste de México), fue trasladado este lunes a un cementerio en el municipio de Zapopan, cerca de Guadalajara, para ser despedido.

El cuerpo de Nemesio Oceguera Cervantes, alias el El Mencho, líder del Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) capturado y abatido el pasado 22 de febrero en un operativo militar en ese estado (oeste de México), fue trasladado este lunes a un cementerio en el municipio de Zapopan, cerca de Guadalajara, para ser despedido.

Tras especulaciones de medios de comunicación respecto a si se trataba del velorio del capo, fuentes conocedoras del caso confirmaron a EFE que el capo fue velado en una funeraria en la colonia San Andrés, un barrio popular al oriente de Guadalajara, capital de Jalisco.

Desde el pasado sábado, cuando familiares reclamaron el cuerpo en la Fiscalía General de la República, en Ciudad de México, un amplio dispositivo de seguridad fue desplegado en el Área Metropolitana de Guadalajara por el Ejército Mexicano, la Guardia Nacional y la policía estatal, además de un helicóptero que sobrevolaba varias zonas de la urbe.

Medios de comunicación locales reportaron que el cuerpo del capo más buscado en México y Estados Unidos llegó a la funeraria La Paz cerca de las 9:00 horas del domingo fuertemente escoltado por camionetas civiles y militares, encargadas de vigilar la carroza.

Desde ese momento, llegaron decenas de arreglos florales con rosas blancas, entre los que destacaron uno en cuya cinta se alcanzaba a leer las siglas CJNG, y otro más con rosas rojas en forma de gallo, debido a que el precio era conocido como El Señor de los Gallos”. La mayoría de los arreglos arribaron sin cintas que identificaran al remitente.

A la par, en dos puntos de la ciudad se registraron balaceras e intentos de secuestro o quema de vehículos que fueron desactivados por la policía estatal.

La entrada y salida de personas alrededor de la funeraria era controlada por militares, incluso estaba en el lugar una tanqueta del Ejército, que permanecieron ahí hasta el traslado al cementerio.

La carroza fúnebre tiene previsto llegar al Recinto de La Paz, un cementerio al poniente de la ciudad y a unos 23 kilómetros de donde ocurrió el velorio.

Debido a que ninguna autoridad federal, estatal o municipal ha confirmado la presencia de los restos del capo, la movilización de elementos militares ha causado tensión y temor entre la población.

La muerte de El Mencho se produjo en Tapalpa, 130 kilómetros al sur de Guadalajara, y provocó una ola de violencia en gran parte de México como bloqueos viales, incendios de negocios, cancelación de vuelos y ataques a fuerzas de seguridad por parte del crimen organizado.

Según informaron las autoridades, 25 miembros de las Guardia Nacional y más de 30 integrantes del CJNG fallecieron en enfrentamientos tras el operativo militar, la mayor parte en el estado de Jalisco.
