El Ministerio de Educación (Minedu) oficializó el calendario para los colegios públicos mediante la resolución correspondiente, en la que se precisa que el cronograma se aplicará en todo el país con el objetivo de ordenar el año lectivo, especialmente en aquellas instituciones que habían planteado fechas distintas en su planificación.

El Minedu instó tanto a las instituciones públicas como privadas a comunicar oportunamente a sus comunidades educativas los detalles del inicio de clases y a cumplir con las disposiciones vigentes para asegurar la continuidad del servicio educativo.

De acuerdo con el sector, más de 6,2 millones de estudiantes de inicial, primaria y secundaria retornarán a las aulas de 53.631 colegios públicos el lunes 16 de marzo de 2026. De ese total, 4,3 millones pertenecen a zonas urbanas y cerca de 1,9 millones a zonas rurales.

Cabe mencionar que el calendario académico de este año contempla cuatro etapas: la primera del 16 de marzo al 15 de mayo; la segunda del 25 de mayo al 24 de julio; la tercera del 10 de agosto al 9 de octubre; y la cuarta del 19 de octubre al 18 de diciembre. Asimismo, se han establecido tres periodos de descanso escolar: del 18 al 22 de mayo, del 27 de julio al 7 de agosto y del 12 al 16 de octubre.

Como parte de la preparación para el retorno en el sector estatal, el ministerio informó que ha reforzado el trabajo conjunto con los gobiernos regionales. Más de 300 especialistas y equipos técnicos de las direcciones regionales de educación (DRE) y de las unidades de gestión educativa local (UGEL) participaron en las Asistencias Técnicas Articuladas (ATA), donde se definieron acciones específicas para cada región.

Entre las medidas adoptadas figuran la planificación anticipada del año escolar, la contratación oportuna de docentes, la distribución de materiales educativos y la organización de actividades pedagógicas para asegurar un inicio de clases en condiciones adecuadas.
