Durante el encuentro, se expusieron conductas que representan un riesgo creciente para la salud pública. “Esta práctica puede derivar en errores de dosificación, reacciones adversas, resistencia a los antibióticos y retrasos en diagnósticos oportunos. Lejos de ser ocasional, se ha integrado a la rutina de muchas personas como una primera respuesta ante el malestar”, puntualiza Infante.

El estudio también identifica factores que agravan el problema: el 30% de limeños utiliza herramientas de inteligencia artificial para identificar qué medicamento tomar, y entre quienes utilizan estas herramientas, el 89% lo hace por la rapidez y el fácil acceso a información. Sin embargo, esta práctica realizada sin criterio profesional puede conducir a errores graves. Asimismo, seis de cada diez personas encuestadas en Lima comparten medicamentos con familiares o amigos ante síntomas similares, y tres de cada diez no revisa siempre la fecha de vencimiento antes de consumirlos; comportamientos que incrementan los riesgos de ineficacia, interacciones peligrosas y diagnósticos tardíos.

El evento contó con la participación de expertos del sector salud, como la MG. QF. María Echaíz Véliz, especialista en gestión de salud, quienes coincidieron en la urgencia de fortalecer la educación sanitaria y el rol orientador del profesional en farmacia. En ese sentido, Cibertec presentó su nueva carrera de Farmacia Técnica, una propuesta formativa orientada a preparar profesionales capaces de contribuir a la prevención, educación y uso seguro de medicamentos en la comunidad.

En el evento se coincidió en la urgencia de fortalecer la educación sanitaria y el rol del profesional en farmacia para prevenir riesgos asociados al uso inadecuado de medicamentos. El especialista subrayó además el impacto del uso indiscriminado de tecnología en la toma de decisiones médicas. “La inteligencia artificial puede ser una herramienta de apoyo, pero nunca debe sustituir el criterio profesional. En salud, una recomendación mal interpretada puede tener consecuencias graves”, advirtió.
